Books
I’ve been very lucky to have published books for both adults and kids in my career. The one thing I’ve learned?
Kids are more fun.
Hiding Out, short stories
Featherproof Books, 2007
Nothing is as it seems: A jilted lover dons robot armor to win back the heart of an ex-girlfriend; an angel loots the home of a single father; a teenager finds the key to everlasting life in a video game. In this much-anticipated debut, one of Chicago's most exciting young writers has crafted playful and empathic tales of misguided lonely hearts. Sparkling with humor and showcasing an array of styles, Hiding Out features characters dodging consequences while trying desperately to connect.
The Finn Caspian series. Four books, published by HarperCollins Childrens, 2020-2021.
A run of four books based on my podcast of the same name. It starts with The Fuzzy Apocalypse and ends with Journey to the Center of that Thing. I’m very proud of these books, and had a blast visiting schools and getting up to mischief with the students, doing a live choose your own adventure–style show.
